Pastoral Sharings

Welcome to St. Francis of Assisi parish! You are now part of a dynamic, active and vibrant parish family. I hope the warmth and welcome you received will help that "newcomer" feeling fade rapidly. St. Paul tells us that we are all members of the body of Christ and as members of His body, we all have gifts and talents to share for the building of God's kingdom, so I invite you to become involved in the various ministries of the parish.

As God's people, we are called to holiness. As a community of faith, we strive to pray well together. In doing so, we grow in holiness and in the image of Christ, placing ourselves at the service of others. Again, welcome! It is a blessing for us to have you as a part of the St. Francis of Assisi family.

Stewardship

Since 2007, the pride and rich tradition of the Catholic faith can be seen, felt and heard everywhere you look in this active, comfortable, friendly parish we call St. Francis of Assisi.

St. Francis of Assisi is a stewardship parish. Stewardship is based upon the Biblical sharing of faith, fellowship and funding. It is a call to respond to God gratefully and generously by placing Him at the center of our lives.

The message of the gospel is our most cherished gift. We have been called to a life of prayer and holiness. It is our responsibility to nurture our faith by sharing it with and teaching it to others, especially children. In other words, we are entrusted to spread the word of God by sharing our faith with family, church and community. This is called "stewardship of spiritual resources."

We also have a great deal to offer each other! As we journey toward a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ and toward a deeper commitment to stewardship in our lives, it is important that we consider how we use our skills, knowledge and time to serve our parish family, the Archdiocese and the world. This is called "stewardship of human resources."

As Christians, the stewardship of our financial resources is a matter of faith. In many respects, our attitude about one mirrors our relationship with God and neighbor. This approach to stewardship is a scriptural way of looking at church support. Every St. Francis of Assisi household is asked to make stewardship a way of life, and we thank you for your generous support of the paish.

As we journey together in faith, we willingly offer the gifts God has given us by making a sound investment in our precious faith, our spiritual family and our Catholic tradition.
