When families are struggling with the loss of a loved one, they are looking for the loving, caring presence of God as evidenced by the church. St. Francis of Assisi American National Catholic Parish (www.stfrancisnj.org) is a faith community within the American National Catholic Church (www.TheAncc.org), is an independent (not in union with Rome) Catholic jurisdiction, is dedicated to providing to all an experience of the extravagant love of God made manifest in Jesus Christ and the Traditions of the Catholic Church. We are a valid Catholic Church committed to the reforms of Vatican Council-II


What if we don't have a parish or have not been to Church for a while?

We at St. Francis of Assisi, are Catholics without judgments. We believe that God never said "no" to anyone, and at a time in the life of your family you should not have to worry about how you will be received, or if you have deposited your envelope every week. We believe that everyone is entitled to a Christian burial, if one so desired.


Where are the services held?

St. Francis of Assisi American National Catholic parish is located at 195 Ridgewood Ave., in Glen Ridge. We have a small parish church, and would be available to celebrate the liturgy at the funeral service your family chooses.


Would we be able to have a Mass?

Yes, the American National Catholic Church is committed to the liturgy of Vatican Council-II, the liturgy you no doubt grew up with. We can also provide you and your loved one with a wake service, grave site or cemetery service.


What is the charge for funeral services?

St. Francis of Assisi American National Catholic parish does not charge for these services. We do accept donations for the support of our ministries. It is customary for your funeral directors to include a honorarium/stipend to his invoice for our services. We do not deny our services to anyone in financial distress.

We are a small parish, and welcome everyone into the experience of the extravagant love of God, and can usually have someone available on short notice.
